Project MYNT – Modernize Your Nevada Tax, is a multi-year, multi-phase project to update the Nevada tax system. There are many changes that will result from this transition, and you’ll want to check out the Nevada Department of Taxation’s website to keep up to date. Here are a few changes you’ll need to know for the new My Nevada Tax system.
- My Nevada Tax requires that you create a separate login for the new system. Your previous Nevada Tax Center login will not work for My Nevada Tax.
- Beginning on Monday, December 9, 2024, you may register your business through My Nevada Tax.
- Taxpayer IDs (TIDs) will no longer be the primary method to identify your accounts. My Nevada Tax will be utilizing your federal ID (FEIN, SSN, or ITIN) to identify the entity and a new account number to identify your individual accounts.
- My Nevada Tax will allow you to make payments from your bank account or by credit card. Credit card transactions incur a fee charged by our credit card processor.
- The taxes that will be available in My Nevada Tax in December are: Sales & Use Tax, Consumer Use Tax, Cigarette & Other Tobacco Products (OTP) Tax, Liquor Tax, Live Entertainment Tax (LET), and Real Property Transfer Tax (RPTT).
You can use My Nevada Tax (https://mynvtax.nv.gov/TAP/) to file Sales & Use Tax or Consumer Use Tax returns online. If you need help with creating your new My Nevada Tax, or have questions about the transition of accounts, please contact our office and speak to one of our business attorneys today.
